General Special Examination of Electricity Safety

In the midmonth of November, 2013, we received "Fast Report of Tongji 220kV Electric Shock Accident of Shanghai Power Company of State Grid" from Group Company, and against "Quick Report" accident, carried out general special examination of electricity safety. By this general special examination, totally 24 potential safety hazards have been found, and up to November 21, all these hazards have been eliminated.

After receiving "Fast Report of Safety Accident" from Group Company, safety & environmental department immediately published the same on our website and required that, the whole company, especially production and equipment management departments, shall carefully read the report, learn lessons from it and immediately implement self-examination. In the early of November, on the safety & environmental meeting, President Zhou required all the departments to carry out self-examination and self-remedy for electricity safety against "Quick Report" accident and actual conditions at electricity-using place. In addition, sponsored by working affairs department, an examination team consisting of safety & environmental department and other major electricity-using departments, shall carry out general examination of electricity safety. For high-voltage electricity-using place, the examination shall be focused on access management, passage safety, warning sign, etc. Related department shall immediately remedy the found problems and potential hazards, and electric equipments management and safety management departments shall give full and unconditional coordination. In the midmonth of November, we held a meeting on special examination team for electricity safety, so that the working arrangement of leaders has been implemented in all aspects, and the examination items and team members have been fixed. The two examination teams conducted careful examination to 131 distribution cabinets, 302 socket boxes, 133 lighting cabinets, 2 power stations, 7 substations, 5 high-voltage test facilities, mobile equipments, portable power tools, safety warning signs, etc against related requirements on electricity safety. Where potential safety hazard is found, the correction notification was issued on the site for immediate correction. This general special examination of electricity safety initiates a new movement to promote safe production.
