Globally Unified Action Writes a New Chapter of CSR Activities of Toshiba Corporation

Toshiba Corporation selects December as “Toshiba CSR Month”, and mobilizes 200,000 employees worldwide to jointly participate in “Social Contribution Unified Action” on December 5, 2014, International Volunteer Day. Toshiba Corporation encourages employees to be actively engaged in the CSR activities to make contribution to the region and the society.

Responding to the call of the Corporation, Changzhou Toshiba will open e-workflow of office supplies purchase order on December 5 to achieve cost reduction of enterprise operation and eliminate waste of resources while improving work efficiency by the means of a paperless office. E-workflow system implemented in July has achieved satisfactory outcome in improvement of work efficiency and saving of papers. The unified action calls all the employees to be actively engaged in activities conducive to the society, including energy saving and consumption reduction, blood donation, donation of money, as well as public benefit and environmental protection activities. Employees shall serve as examples and pay attention to every detail to save every piece of paper, every paper cup, every drop of water, every kilowatt hour and use e-workflow system of the company to the greatest extent.  

In order to achieve the vision of "bright future of human beings and earth" and "innovative growth", Toshiba Corporation has regarded "promotion of CSR management" as a main component of daily operation of the company. In 2010 Toshiba took the lead in introducing ISO26000 (Social Responsibility Guideline Standard) into enterprise management, making great efforts to carry out CSR activities in accordance with international standards. In order to undertake due responsibilities to benefit all interested parties, Toshiba has vigorously carried out various kinds of CSR activities including donation to Hope primary schools, hosting of skills innovation contest, sponsorship of Chinese FA Cup games, tree planting, etc., and donated CNY 1,000,000 to the earthquake-stricken area in Ya'an in 2013. Toshiba Corporation has launched globally unified CSR activities for the first time in 2014, marking a new chapter of CSR activities in the Corporation.
